Omanis bag top honours at Malaysia exhibition

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman achieved advanced positions in the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition in Malaysia (24 ITEX), which concluded its activities in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

Tasnim Muhammad Al-Daoudia won the gold medal for her innovation “Dilution of Heavy Oil Using Hydrogen Injection Technology” as the best project in the field of energy and the best innovative project in the field of energy from the Republic of Singapore.

 Iman Abdullah Bait Ubaidoun also won first place and a gold medal for his innovation, “Water Treatment Using the Electrochemical Method,” while Mazen bin Rashid Al Badi won second place and a silver medal for his innovation, “Dr. Robot.”

The Dohat Al-Adab School team for basic education (10-12) from Muscat Governorate Education won first place and a gold medal in the field of information technology for the project “Using hybrid artificial technology for early detection of liver cirrhosis.”

The team won 4 other awards from the Invention and Innovation Center (INNOPA) in Indonesia, from the Citizen Innovation Center in Singapore, from the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and another from the Research and Development Council in the State of Qatar.

Meanwhile, the Souda Umm al-Mu’minin School team (5-12) from Al-Dhahirah Governorate’s educational team won second place and a silver medal in the environmental field for the project “Green Chemistry for Secondary Iron Manufacturing.

The International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition is an annual exhibition to explore various innovative technical ideas and projects in the fields of the science and technology industry, and a global platform to attract inventions and innovations, and attract a large number of investors and businessmen with the participation of innovators and interested people from around the world.

The exhibition includes a number of ideas and inventions from all over the world, and organised by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society. Since then, the exhibition has become the most visible international platform for inventions and innovations in the region with a wide range of classifications with the participation of more than 700 innovations from different countries of the world in various fields.
